Black and White
So I decided to start blogging to show you a little bit more of what's going on in this wonky brain of mine. It's mostly to start getting consistent about posting content, and owning my work as a business.
Since I left (ran out my contract at) my corporate job about a month and a half ago, I've been struggling with owning my work as a business. When I was in school, my business was often on the back burner, with not following through or being inconstant with prints and things like that. It's for sure a lot of work to run art as a business, and mix some confidence issues into there and you've got someone who feels weird trying to sell things.
So now here we are, I'm trying to own my work, progress as an artist and maker, and run my art as a business. I will be releasing two new prints every Friday, as well as posting new paintings more consistently. I am open to suggestions, and posting prints of things you all think are awesome. Feedback on sizes, content and things you'd like to see, are much appreciated!
Above are some pattern pieces I've been playing with this week. They are relatively quick, 10"x10" black ink on paper, playing with still life, pattern play, and black and white balance. I'm starting some wood panel versions today that I'm hoping to post tomorrow morning!
I am excited to share this journey with everyone!
